Job Description
Job Title: SECOND COOK
Reports To: Head Cook/Principal
Job Goal: To serve the students attractive and nutritious meals in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness and warmth.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Demonstrate aptitude for successful performance of the tasks listed.
- Must have some knowledge of accounting and record-keeping.
- Must work well with others.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Capable of satisfactorily replacing the head cook during time of absences.
- Assist in the preparation and serving of food in a quick and pleasant manner.
- Assume responsibility for replenishing the food supply during meal time.
- Assist in the daily cleanup in the kitchen and service area.
- Aid in the washing of equipment and utensils.
- Must have the ability to relate to children and young people.
- Maintain the highest standards of safety and cleanliness in the kitchen.
- Complete other job assignments as prepared by the head cook or principal.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION, BONDING AND/OR TESTING REQUIRED:
- Pre-employment drug screen
- Possess and maintain a valid First Aid/CPR Card
- Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance
- Valid Oregon Driver’s License
- Valid Food Handlers Card
- Bloodborne Pathogen Training
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Significant physical abilities include lifting/carrying, reaching/handling, talking/hearing conversations, near/far visual acuity/depth perception/accommodation/field of vision.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary to be according to current salary schedule agreed upon in the Classified Collective Bargaining Agreement.
EVALUATION:
The performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the building principal.
